Messing around in boats

I'm currently in the market for a kayak. Mr Poachie tells me I won't use it as we don't go boating a lot and lord knows how I will attach it to my VW Golf but my argument is that the reason we don't currently go boating a lot is because I don't own a kayak. Catch 22! Chicken/egg!

Whilst I continue to scour Facebook marketplace for a reasonably priced vessel, we have Bodiam Boating Station nearby for all our waterside adventures.

My boat of choice is the Canadian canoe. There was a small incident the first time Mr Poachie and I hired one as I needed a kiss and we almost capsized from doing so. Needless to say the next time we went boating, we hired individual kayaks to lesson the risk of  Titanic-like dramas.

I find being by the water so relaxing, each time I go I have the intention of diving in for a wild swim, which you can do here, but each time I wuss-out and don't do it.

Boat hire starts from £15 per hour, which is pretty reasonable. They also have a great cafe which has strong Aussie hostel vibes, a lovely campsite and you can have kayaking lessons.

The river runs past Bodiam Castle and continues towards Rye.

Its a very fun day out so until I am the captain of my own ship, I shall look forward to our next visit!
