The Pig near Bath

I will apologise now, there are A LOT of photos in this blog post but really that is The Pig's fault for being so bloody fabulous!

I am obsessed with the décor. Every last detail is exactly how I would want my house to be. The light switches, door handles, clocks, books and glassware are carefully curated to create this gorgeous setting.

There are currently 7 pigs in their litter and I have only been to the one in Bath and in the New Forest. They recently opened up another in Bridge near Canterbury so we are going to book a stay there ASAP as Mr Poachie bought me a stay for my birthday.

They have a 'what cant be grown here will be sourced within a 25 mile radius' mantra so all of the food is fresh and local which I love but I do feel bad ordering pork when I have just met their pet piggies out in the gardens.

I think most of them offer spa treatments as well but I'm not keen on massages and things.
I fidget too much.

I would much rather go for a wander around the kitchen garden and then get stuck into the cocktail menu.

I am a pain to go anywhere with as I always want to do one lap to take photos and then another to take it all in (but probably end up taking more photos).

How gorgeous is this?! I didn't think I could fall in love with a toilet but it stole my heart.

The finishing touches make it feel so homely.

For each time I have stayed at one of the hotels I haven't actually left, when Mr Poachie and I talked a about booking in at Bridge he thought we would be going out to visit somewhere - he knows me too well and thought  that I would be scheduling in National Trust visits etc, but with The Pig I don't feel the need to leave.

Its more about escaping to the countryside and having some pure relaxation time.
And drinking a lot of gin and tonics.

I did bring my own Hunters but I needn't have bothered as they have a vast collection in all sizes for you to borrow.

I really liked the floor tiles.

How nice to have all your herbs and veg grown in the garden.

I think The Pig collection originally started from the Limewood hotel, whoever thought of it has amazing taste and style.

How cute are piggies bottoms?

If I had the money I would hire out the whole hotel and host a murder mystery event. It has that kind of vibe.

Are you bored of the photos yet?!

I think perhaps I love it so much because my favourite colour is green and with it being so countryfied you are surrounded by it.

It is best to book tables for lunch and dinner when you reserve the room as they do open it up to non staying guests. It wasn't a problem in the Bath hotel but the one in the New Forest was so busy and I thought it ruined it slightly.

I love looking at all the different herb and vegetable names. It makes me want to write a book using them for character names.

Aaaahhh the rolltop bath! You have to pay a little more for a comfy luxe room if you want a freestanding bath but to me that is a must! I love a good soak in the tub before dinner.

It isn't a cheap night away but I think it Is worth every penny. It feels like such a treat to visit and the staff are great. They are always young cool and edgy folk wearing converse cos yeah, that's just how it is.

Usually there is the choice to book a room in the main house or you can stay in one of their huts or hideaways.

It is also worth checking out their late deals, it does get booked up quite fast but you can check out their late availability and snag a great discount on the rooms!

I really cant wait to go back. I know that all of the Pig's are a little different in style but I hope the main theme is continued throughout.

As soon as we have visited The Pig at Bridge I will write about it to let you know!

Sorry if I have bored you!
