Lavender Heart Wreath Workshop

Castle Farm I know I have written about it a lot. As much as I would like to, I don't work for them! I just really enjoy visiting.

This was from when I attended a lavender wreath making workshop last summer. My girlfriends bought it for me as a birthday gift.

What an amazing setting to be crafty! Kirstie Allsopp eat your (lavender) heart out.

There were about 8 of us in the workshop and we were working in the marquee which faces the beautiful fields.

The scent was amazingly strong and you can hear the bees humming away.

It was hard not to be distracted by the beautiful view; I find it hard to focus at the best of times let alone when I'm in a place like this!

After a demonstration of how to do it, we were given our own workstation with tools and we could help oursleves to bunches of lavender and away we went.

I have attended a couple of wreath making workshops before as my girlfriends and I have a Christmas tradition of wreath making each year so I have a good understanding of how to make them.

I don't think you need to be at all arty to do things like this though, as its quite simple to make and it's such a lovely way to spend an afternoon.

I always feel better after doing something creative. Its a bit like the feeling you get when you exercise; its an escape from life for a little while.

Its funny because when I was at school I never paid much attention to classes; even things I enjoyed like art. I was always getting distracted or too busy distracting others.

Now when I attend anything like this I am a full on nerd.

This is the famous lavender bench.

Although my lavender heart has lost its scent it still looks great hanging on the wall behind my bed.

Thank you Castle Farm for a wonderful event!
