Pull!

My first experience of clay pigeon shooting was many moons ago on a friend's hen do. I doubt any of us were particularly good but I somehow took home the bragging rights of best shooter!

Since then I have only done a laser version on a corporate away day where again, I wasn't that bad.

Mr Poachie is a very good shot (or shooter?) he can hit stuff and make clays explode. He has his own gun and where we live we are lucky enough to have land to shoot on.

Disclaimer! We are only shooting clays and never animals.

Being a Lord and Lady (titles bought purely for fun but legally valid), we have embraced country life and endeavour to dress and act the part whenever possible. Last weekend I dug out some tweed and Mr Poachie organised the clays and Pull! we were off.

I started off shooting with a smaller, lighter gun which was fine in the sense that I didn't feel like I was being smacked in face each time but it also meant I didn't hit a bloody thing.

Ten missed clays later and I swapped to Mr Poachie's larger gun and although I managed to abolish the clays, I was also worried for my jaw and cheekbones.

The conclusion seems to be that I need to invest in a 20 bore 'Ladies gun'. It seems I have found myself a new expensive hobby...
