Wheatsheaves and Stooks

A few autumn's ago I went to Castle Farm for a wheatsheaves and stooks workshop.

I love visiting Castle Farm all year round and its particularly nice to see the pumpkin display. I really do have this thing with pumpkins!

I love doing anything crafty and years later both of my wheaty creations are still going strong. I have hung the wheat on my wall in my bedroom.

You had the option to make either a wheatsheaf or a stook but I managed to make both within the time that we were given.

They provided all of the decorations like poppies, corn, mini pumpkins.

It was a truly fabulous celebration of Autumn.

I always think wheat would make a really good centre piece for a September wedding.

The wheatsheaves and stook were quite easy to make, it was just a case of making sure the ends of the bunches were neat and then securing it with some string or ribbon and then styling it.

Of course the ladies running the workshop made it look so effortless!

Being creative I think is so good for the mind. It was a lovely afternoon of pure escapism.

Being surrounded by lovely things.

I have also attended their lavender wreath making workshops and I will write another blog about that soon.

Thankfully my creations survived the car journey home.

I really wanted to take home this basket of mini pumpkins!
