A Victorian viaduct

What did the Victorians invent?

During Queen Victoria's reign, telephones, electric lightbulbs and cars were invented. And a more favourite pastime of mine, photography!

These pictures were taken at the Ouse valley viaduct, which consists of 37 archways and was built back in 1839. It spans a total length of 1480 feet. Sorry for those who like facts and figures, I'm not writing about it to give you the history of it, that is what Wikipedia is for!!

Its funny when you visit somewhere and think, how have I not been here before?  Located near the very small sweet village of Balcombe, it was clearly a place that lots of other people knew about as every archway was filled with edgy people taking cool pictures.

I should imagine to get the money shot you would need to come early in the morning or stay late until the less dedicated Instagramers have gone home.

We had a bit of a random Sunday as we went to 3 different garden centres, as Mr Poachie and I want to spruce up our balcony. We are on the hunt for some olive trees, a lemon tree and some lavender plants.

Afterwards we then test drove a Range Rover as Mr Poachie's car lease is soon up for renewal. It was a lovely car, I screamed a lot as it was very fast.

And then we decided to visit the viaduct and I'm so glad we did! I love Victorian architecture and, despite the strong wind, it was a nice sunny afternoon.

I hope you all had a super Sunday!
