Do you play croquet?

"Do you play croquet" is a line from one of my all time favourite Disney films, Alice in Wonderland.

Although croquet is so quintessentially British and a summer lawn party favourite, its actually quite a competitive game; especially when your ball has been roquet'd down the other end of the garden!

Croquet became highly popular as a social pastime in England during the 1860s and although I doubt anyone playing in a garden party is adhering to the rules now, its still great fun.

We are so lucky where we live to have a flat lawn to play and it's now become a summer evening tradition to have a gin & tonic and a game of croquet. Even the neighbour popped over for a game.

Could we be any more Made in Chelsea?!?!

You can probably tell by these pictures that I have set it up to practice styling shoots, we don't normally have a picnic setup in the middle of our games.

Speaking of practicing my photography I have been doing a ton of research and have set up a Shutterstock account so I can upload my pictures in the hope that someone might use them.

I'm also going to contact some local photographers to see if they would let me work with them, so that I can get some experience, but I have learnt this week that for magazine photography they wouldn't always commission a shoot. More often than not they will choose an image from Getty or Shutterstock.

So for now, I need to practice practice practice and eventually decide on what camera I should buy. The iPhone camera is good but I think if I am going to be serious about this then I really should invest in something decent.
Any help or advice is always gratefully received.
