Little Budds Farm

Last year I discovered Little Budds Farm through social media and found out that they have peony farm open days. Sadly it was too late in the year to pay them a visit as they only run a few open days in June when the flowers are in bloom.

Peonies are my absolute favourite, so much so that I named my blog after them! I added it to my 'Live the life you love' bucket list and here we are, one year later.

Located near Detling, the farm is nestled deep in the glorious Kent countryside. The open days are free but as we are still in lockdown we were asked to register on Eventbrite so they could manage the numbers and social distancing.

There was plenty of parking and as soon as you get out of the car you are greeted with rows and rows of gorgeous peonies! I had never seen anything like it, some of them were as big as my head. In truth I didn't know that there were so many different varieties.

The rule is that you can take home any flowers that are on the floor and keep but, they also sell stems and a huge variety of peony plants. As it is nearly my birthday Mr Poachie treated me to a plant; what a sausage!

I won't admit to how many pictures we took, but it was a lot. Most of them I was chasing my hat or clutching on to my dignity as it was a very windy day and my dress was doing a Marilyn but not in the classy Hollywood way.

I was in heaven surrounded by all of these pretties. There is something about peonies that makes me want to eat them, they look like big dollops of strawberry ice cream.

Thank you Little Budds Farm for the most dreamy visit!
