The Eden Project

As you may know, I suffer with anxiety and I don't like to put myself out of my comfort zone.

Even starting a blog and putting myself out there was a challenge for me.

Mr Poachie has been so supportive of me, my blog and doing his own research on anxiety to help me.

He did, however decide it would be good for my anxiety to book a FORWARD FACING ZIP WIRE!!!!

The lunatic.

So there we were strapped up to a harness, 90 metres high with views over the biome's about to fly off into the distance. Not your usual start to the day! But despite my nerves and pleas to not have to do it, it was actually really fun! I thought I would be screaming and squarking all over the shop but we were the first ones to go so there wasn't a lot of time to let the fear build up, I tried to not to look out at the view before we were let loose and then WHOOSH! We were flying! It was peaceful and I loved it, until you could see the ground coming up really fast and then there was a jolt and you came to a stop. I didn't like that bit. 45 seconds and it was all over. And yes I would do it again.

So that, ladies and gents was my entrance to the The Eden Project.

I was envisioning that the Eden Project would be a bit like Kew Gardens which it was if you swapped the Victorian greenhouses for modern eco biomes.

We first entered the rainforest biome which made my hair massive due to the humidity but I was already a mess after flying through the air at 45mph so who really cares at this point.

Mr Poachie was very excited for the rainforest. I think in a past life he was a panda as he really loves bamboo (and he is a silly bear).

My favourite biome was the Mediterranean which is where we stopped for a Cornish gin and tonic, as you do.

This day was actually my favourite day, Mr Poachie and I were being really silly all day and I knew I didn't have any specific photo's that I wanted to take so I think that made me more relaxed as I can get a bit uptight if I don't get the 'money shot'.

Also I wasn't that bothered about visiting the Eden Project and I wasn't initially keen for the zip wire but it was the best day! Funny how it works out like that.

This photo made me laugh as it made me think of those meme's where the caption says 'When the squad is ready to party' or something along those lines.

It was a bit of a grey day and we hadn't got plans for the afternoon, we were hoping for a beach day but as it wasn't sunny we thought we would head to Newquay to see if there was anything cool to see there and if the sun did make an appearance we could sit on the beach.

I had been to Newquay years ago, in my early 20's and we just wanted to party and sit on the beach but I couldn't remember much else about it. I had seen someone's insta who had recently visited and she made it look like it had cool shops and cafes so I was expecting it to be like Byron Bay, Aussie vibes.

How deceptive social media is!! Newquay was an absolute dive (no pun intended) it was a really rough town and despite being there early afternoon, cafes were shut or had stopped serving food which we thought was bizarre.

We ended up in 12 Beach rd which was quite cool, I ordered a cocktail and some nachos and Mr Poachie and I continued our afternoon of immature banter. He really makes me laugh, it's so nice to be with someone who has a good sense of humour!

I think life is too short to take ourselves too seriously.

So that's it, on paper not my dream day but in reality it was my favourite day from our holiday.

Best memories : )
