Clovelly

There is a rivalry between Devon and Cornwall and despite just spending the most dreamy week in Cornwall and an hour in Devon, I think I must be a Devonshire girl at heart.

Don't get me wrong, Cornwall was beautiful (in parts) but perhaps I had built it up too much in my mind but I didn't fall in love with it.

If we go back I would like to revisit Helford and I want to see Coverack and spend a week on the beach but I don't think I would revisit the other top places.

Devon however, is on my holiday list for 2021 should covid mess with our plans to go abroad.

Clovelly was somewhere I had seen on insta and as it was sort of on our way home, it made sense to visit whilst we were in that part of the world.

You park at the top in the main car park, and pay your entry fee, walk through the visitor centre and then down the steep, cobbled street down towards the harbour. and OHMYGOSH it is really pretty!

As if you had fallen into a postcard. Thankfully we arrived when it was quiet so we managed to take some great photo's. That's something I have had to learn, as well as being patient, is to take the photo's when you are there, don't think 'oh we can get it on our way back' as by the time we left there were loads of people and there were queues to get in.

I think I would like to spend a night here, there was a little pub/hotel at the very bottom and a pebbled beach, the bay was quiet and it was so beautiful I really liked it.

The walk back to the top was not fun, it was so steep! It must be a pain for the residents if you got to the top and forgot your car keys!

I wish we had spent longer here but there wasn't a lot to see, I just liked the vibe it was very calming and it has inspired me to return to Devon as soon as I can.

So that was the end of our trip! I hope I haven't bored you with too much seaside spam. I should imagine I will be posting nautical images on insta for the forseeable...
