Penshurst village

I like to think that one day my hat will be as famous as Monty Don's dog, Nigel.

Wherever I go, there will be a hat!

Penshurst is most well known for Penshurst Place but the village itself is well worth a visit in its own right.

With Henry VIII once owning the residence next door, it oozes medieval charm. The timber framed houses add to the oldy-worldy feel of the place.

There is a pretty church and a great pub The Leicester Arms selling delicious pub grub which is the perfect place to stop off and enjoy a glass of wine by the roaring fire or in the sprawling garden around the back if the sunshine has made an appearance.

It's the kind of village that will host fetes in the summer and Christmas fayres in the winter.

This cat knows it is rolling around in a decent postcode! In fact, I very nearly moved here as I really love the village and it ticks a lot of my living requirements however the rent was too high and the property was miles down this windy country lane which would have been very scary in the winter!

Maybe I will move here in the future, when I have won the lottery and can buy a mahoosive oast house!!
