Lamb House

I have previously written about Rye in a blog post here but I thought I should do another post for Lamb House by itself.

A Georgian red bricked house with its own walled garden, what a fabulous concoction!

With its literary connections and popularity with royalty, Mr Poachie and I felt right at home when we popped in for a visit.

Despite Rye being so small, Lamb House was very spacious and boasts one of the largest gardens in the town.

Inside was an area of calm and tranquillity which must have been nice when you need to escape the busy streets of Rye in the summer.

The garden is filled with herbaceous borders and flowers.

It even had its own little vegetable patch.

Perhaps not as grand in stature as some of the other National Trust venues, it is still worth a visit if you are down in Rye.

Old fashioned beds look more uncomfortable than the beds you get in European hotels.

So there we have it, a short but sweet visit, another NT venue to tick off the list!
