Dreamy date night

Mr Poachie and I cant even remember when our last date was; we have had picnics at home but not been out anywhere for months! So when Castle Farm released tickets for lavender picnics I knew I had to snap some up.

The weather gods were on our side and we had the most perfect warm summers evening. I'm so glad we were able to visit, I like to go each year to buy more bunches of lavender and get my Instagasms going. 

Over the weekend I had made some roasted vegetable cous cous, buttery new potatoes and a spinach and feta filo pastry pie. I like to picnic in style.

Oh I have also dyed my hair platinum blonde, I keep getting shocks when I see my reflection in the mirror as I'm not used to it yet! But I think its fun, I'm going to dye it pink soon.

Tickets were £10 per adult and we had two hours of frolicking in the fields. We took a lot of beautiful photos and had so much fun. I booked the 6p - 8pm slot as I wanted that evening light which was magic.

This is their famous lavender bench where I believe Kelly Brook has also sat, so naturally I had to have a photo shoot of my own and channel my inner model minus the big bosoms!

You could hear the hum of the bees and the scent of lavender was simply marvellous. 

I slept really well that night!

The family who own and run the lavender fields also live here. I couldn't be any more jealous, I'm sure it is a lot of work but it must be so worth it.

Another glorious visit...until next year!!
