PYO at Cherry Garden Farm

My camera roll is FILLED with photos of flowers. I'm obsessed. I love having the house filled with plants and flowers and although you are just watching your money die, we may as well all die fragrantly.

Its something I need to get better at as I have so many photos and often they are duplicates as I use lightroom and insta to edit the photos so sometimes I end up with numerous versions of the same image.

This means it can take me ages to write a blog post, not only because I sometimes struggle with what to say but because I have to select and organise all of my images first. It's a tough job kids!

Anyway, back to Cherry Gardens Farm I discovered this gem last year as it is very close to where I live and they have a cute farm shop and sell coffees. When I found out that there is also PYO for  fruit and flowers I knew I would have to visit.

I was worried I was going to go overboard and be charged £500 as they had so many beautiful varieties of flower, I don't know the names of them sorry.

Off I skipped into the field, it was hard to choose what flowers to go for I think I came back with a varied collection of all of them.

In the end it only cost around £15 and they lasted a long time, that's one of my bug bears about shop bought flowers as they don't always last that long.

I also like to dry and press my flowers when I can. I like the idea of decoupage but so far, all of the flowers I dried last year and still laying flat beneath pages in a book.

I do have a flower press but its really small, I think it is for kids.

As limited as my flower knowledge is, I didn't recognise a lot of the flowers on offer here. Not that it matters but if you are thinking of visiting don't expect sunflowers/roses etc. I think the description for what they grow is cottage garden flowers.

Whatever they are described as, they are bloomin' gorgeous.

Due to lockdown their opening hours have been reduced so check the website before you go.
