Glyndebourne

It saddens me to think that I might never experience the full magic of Glyndebourne

Neither Mr Poachie or I are opera fans so we don't really want to shell out the £££'s for a ticket but I am a fan of picnicking in style which really is 90% of the event I feel.

So when I saw that they host garden open days for the bargain price of £10 I thought I would seize the opportunity and have a little visit.

Sadly the occasion didn't require the ball gown and long white gloves dress code but that needn't of mattered.

The grounds and atmosphere reminded me of Wimbledon, there was a real sense of hospitality.

The grounds are wonderful to explore, there was a lake, beehives, a kitchen garden and fantastic views of the South Downs.

It was a little chilly when I was there, so I didn't hang around all afternoon as you might do if it was a warm summers day.

For now this might be as close as I can get. I know that this year they are hosting outdoor opera and the tickets sold out instantly!

I can hear the music and taste the champers!

Maybe one day Mr Poachie will take me...
