Flower Picking at Cherry Gardens

England is having a second attempt at Summer, huzzah! It has been such a washout so far, it's been sending me into a panic that I won't tick off my Summer bucket list which includes picnics, wild swimming, sunflowers and kayaking.

Thankfully, we have a lovely PYO flower field nearby so we visited yesterday if you would like to see...

Cherry Gardens is an organic farm shop that overlooks the Sussex weald. The farm shop is only small but it is packed with fresh produce and organic dairy and meats.

Due to the lousy Spring that we had, the fields weren't as impressive as they were last year (you can read my post on that here).

Usually their field is filled with gladioli, dahlias, sunflowers, daisies and much more but the pickings were a bit slim.

I chose a variety of gladioli, dahlias and hollyhocks all of which only came to £5! I brought my own bucket with me (I used an old flower planter) but I forgot my secateurs so they kindly lent me some but I think in these covid times it would be better if you can bring your own.

It is free to visit and there is enough parking. You can't bring dogs with you but they do allow picnics! The flower fields will be open for another month so if you live locally it is such a lovely place to visit and it is nice to support these smaller shops. Plus what a great feeling to know where your flowers have come from!
