Pevensey

This weekend I was invited down to the most wonderful beach house in Pevensey. My friend was there for the week celebrating her Dad's 70th and some girlfriends and I headed down on the Saturday to help them celebrate!

I'm not usually a fan of the British coast line, I think its a bit rough and tacky (such a snob, I know). This particular house we were staying in though, was fabulous. It was right on the beach and had a great interior. Very nautical, obviously with fresh white floorboards, comfy sofa's, bifold doors and an open plan kitchen.

After swooning over the house on our arrival, we cracked open a bottle of rose and had a gossip out on the deck. Then it was time to play in the sea!

One of the girls had bought their paddleboard and we had lilo's so we braved the cool sea temperatures and had some good old fashioned fun!

It was such a blast playing in the sea, so much so that I went back in a bit later on. I did try paddleboarding but after a few glasses of wine I just couldn't keep my balance on the board! Plus I think trying it in the sea is hard.

We had a BBQ and stayed outside well into the evening, which is probably why we felt a little jaded the next day...

One of the girls staying is a yoga instructor so she did a class outside on the deck. What a way to start your Sunday! I was desperate to go back in the sea but Mr Poachie was on his way to pick me up and I didn't want to lug my damp clothes around with me.

After saying my goodbyes we drove 30 minutes to Cuckmere Haven to walk down to the beach.

I blame my hangover as by the time we got there I realised I had forgotten to put my battery in my camera so I could only use my iphone. Whoops!

If I had planned it better I should have bought my towel down with me and had a dip here. It was much windier here though than where we had the beach house but I have made a promise to myself to try and visit the coast more often.

It's so pretty and relaxing, I am thinking of booking a beach house for a week next year. If I could afford it I would like to have one all summer! My friend said she felt like she was in the O.C, and it did feel like that! Just a bunch of pals hanging out having BBQ's on the beach.
