Down by the riverside

I simply adore being by the water. It instantly calms me and I really want to one day own a canoe.

Mr Poachie feels differently about such things.

I have been thinking about joining a club for kayaking or something along those lines, I feel there would be no lovelier start to a weekend morning than a gentle paddle on a river.

I had previously written a summer bucket list and going boating was on there, I do try and do this at least once a year. We usually go to Bodiam Boating but this year we visited Canoe Wild near Canterbury.

It was worth the drive over, the river was absolutely gorgeous, the water was so clear and parts of the river were filled with swans. We didn't swim ourselves but we saw so many people enjoying the water, whether it was on a paddleboard, kayaking and swimming.

I am going to share with you all my summer bucket list as it might be helpful for fun things to do?

Our canoe cost £23 for an hour and all of the staff were really friendly. There is a car park about 5 mins walk away from where you rent the boats from and it's just so pretty ad relaxing.

I think I make Mr Poachie nervous when we go boating as there was one previous occasion where we had a bit of a wobble, in the boat, not in our relationship and I don't think he has ever forgotten in. I wanted a kiss and in the process of turning around to face him, the boat lost its balance. We remained dry and firm friends but I made sure that on this trip, there was no funny business!
