Wine tasting and wellness

I recently had the most dreamy Saturday with one of my girlfriends, Tilly. Yes it always makes us giggle when we have to introduce ourselves as Tilly and Lilly but let me tell you, we know how to spend a day out.

We booked onto a pilates retreat down at Limecross Nursery in Herstmonciex. The day included welcome drinks, pilates by their lake, wild swimming, warming up in the hot tub, lunch with wines from their vineyard and a tour of the vineyard.

If I could plan my perfect day out, it would be something along the lines of this! Thankfully the weather was on our side so we started with pilates in the sunshine with a welcome breeze. This felt so peaceful and relaxing I felt like I could do with a nap afterwards.

Post pilates we were offered fresh juice and a flapjack which I declined as they had pesky raisins in. So my tummy was rumbling by this point!

We then braved the water for a dip, it wasn't actually cold it was 22 degrees so after the initial rush of exhilaration when you got in the water, it was divine. We had a natter and swam two laps of the lake and then got out to get into these dry robes that Tilly bought with her.

I have seen a few of these on Instagram recently and I am thinking about investing in one. They aren't cheap, the one I have my eye on is £300!!! But these ones from Dry Robe were £130. They are great for getting changed after swimming and they keep you really warm. Tilly said they are also useful for festivals and camping for staying warm.

We then jumped into the hot tub for a while which was so nice, it was woodfired so we would get the occasional waft of wood smoke. We then got out to dry off and get changed for lunch.

Lunch was awesome. By this point I was so hungry so I wolfed this down whilst trying to pay attention to the talk on their wines. The focaccia bread was home made and so delicious. I have been making focaccia bread recently but I can't get it like this!

After lunch we were given a tour and talk on the vineyard and were given the option to purchase some of their wines with a discount. All of the wines were so good but my favourite was the rose.

We departed by 4pm feeling like we had had the best day. I would highly recommend it and I cannot wait to go back.
