Saignon, Provence

We had a very fleeting visit to the small village of Saignon during our time in Provence.

I had seen photo's of the fountain and the shutters and that was enough for me to decide I wanted to go.

On the day we went, it was 37 degrees and no breeze. After parking the car we made our way up towards the centre which was very sleepy. We soon found the fountain and was hoping to stop for a cool drink but was told that the cafe was closed.

We took some pictures and wandered around slowly but the heat was becoming unbearable to we found a little cafe (possibly the only other cafe?) and took refuge in the shade.

Two fizzy organges later, we felt refreshed to go for another wander around these pretty streets. It looks like there are some galleries and shops here but it was very quiet.

We decided that as pretty as it was, we wanted to move on. We had one more village to visit before we could check in to our accommodation and we just wanted to escape the heat!
