Lunch date at Petersham Nurseries

I had wanted to visit Petersham nurseries in Richmond for YEARS but had never been for various reasons. I tend to avoid London as I don't like crowded places and I didn't want to drive there myself as motorways give me all sorts of anxiety so I had left it on my 'Live the life you love' wish list and just hoped someday I would go.

That day happened last year, Mr Poachie treated me to a lunch date, plus he was driving which meant I could sit back and drink champagne all afternoon. Huzzah!

From the moment we stepped inside the glasshouse restaurant I was squeaking and sqwarking; the colonial art, the dusty floor, the fragrant smell of Jasmine! Oosh I was in heaven. It combines my two loves of plants and eating, happy girl. (I dont eat plants)

After whizzing around the restaurant looking at all of the gorgeous paintings and taking far too many photos we sat down and kicked off with a peach bellini, each sip was so delicious.
    More sqwarking ensued.

I adore Italian food so opted for the burrata starter. Simply gorgeous.

With my main I ordered a glass of the primitivo red wine which I have not stopped talking about since. We vowed that we would go to La Goccia in Covent Garden at some point so we could compare and so I could drink some more of the yummy wine.

Feeling full and happy after lunch we wandered around the shop and after a couple of vinos it was hard not to buy the whole shop.

After a long browse we popped into the café next door for a coffee but sadly we were too full for cake.

Sorry I have included so many photo's, I have a ton on my camera roll I just thought it was beautiful and I am a camera addict.

Hopefully one day I will come back for another super date... hint hint Mr Poachie!
