Chiddingstone in colour

Despite managing the social media for Chiddingstone Castle, I sort of forget to visit it myself! I think because I am always looking through images of it on their account and from photo's that I have taken and edited I never think to post or share it from my personal accounts.

I visited recently for a marketing meeting and their gardens were looking incredible so I thought it would be nice to share with you all. The gardeners here are all volunteers and they work so hard, it has really paid off.

I have been working with Chiddingstone for a year now! It has been such a great learning experience and it is always fun to visit and photograph it. I only found out recently that they are also part of the Historic Houses Association which means members will be allowed in for free.

After I visited the castle, I had to stop the car to photograph this adorable house in the image above, I loved their British bunting and that they were selling jam, honey and eggs outside. Sadly I had no cash on me as otherwise I would have bought some.

It must be so wonderful to be a gardener and to see the flowers come into bloom. Those months of hard work all coming to life! I sometimes think I would like to be a gardener but I know I would hate being cold (I am one of those people who are cold 90% of the time). I will stick to managing social media and photography for now..

If you live in the area, please do visit the castle. They have a lot of events on over the summer including jazz on the lawn, outdoor theatre, vintage fairs and much more! Kent and Sussex are renowned for their stately homes and National Trust venues but Chiddingstone Castle is charity run so can only remain open by people visiting and donating!

You never know, I might be there too so come over and say hi!
