Mount Vineyard

Last year I discovered The Mount Vineyard in Shoreham but for one reason or another didn't get to visit. It's quite far from where we live and although we could get the train it would be easier to drive, but who wants to drive when there is wine to be drunk?

Thankfully, Mr Poachie saw sense and offered to drive when we were invited there for lunch for a friend's 30th birthday. Mr Poachie isn't a wine drinker and also doesn't share my love of vineyards which has seriously doubted our compatibility!  He feels that once you have seen one vineyard, you have seen them all.

Fool.

Summer wreath for the win.

I LOVE visiting vineyards, they make me feel like I am abroad and obviously I love drinking wine. It was so hot when we went that I definitely felt like I was in Provence.

Delicious. But very dangerous. I know you should drink 8 glasses of water each day but drinking 8 glasses of wine is much more fun.

We didn't bother with a tour, after we had lunch we moved outside to drink amongst the vines.

It was such a fun afternoon catching up with friends. I think England has really upped its game when it comes to producing wine. As long as the Rose is dry and light in colour I am going to drink it.

We made the sensible decision to head home after the vineyard instead of going out to carry on drinking back in town. I was already very wobbly after sharing three bottles of wine! It doesn't take much...

Dreamy scenes at the vineyards.

I would thoroughly recommend a visit if this is your type of thing. I have now visited quite a few of the local vineyards in Kent and Sussex and this is not to be missed!

Cheers!
