A trip to Faversham

We visited Faversham on our way back from Dover last weekend. It was a toss up of visiting Faversham or Margate. I know, I know Margate is meant to be the pits BUT I had also heard that it is meant to on the up and some even go as far to describe it as 'Shoreditch by the sea'...

My party wasn't convinced and once I found out that Dreamland is currently closed due to The Covid, I gave up in trying to persuade them and settled on the medieval town Faversham!

I had read recently on the Muddy Stilettos that Faversham was voted one of the best places to live outside of London. I think that perhaps visiting on a quiet Sunday afternoon when all the shops were shut, and in Covid times, we maybe didn't see it at it's best.

I'm sure it is lovely but on this grey day, we left after about 15 mins of me taking photographs.

I think one of the main attractions to the town is the Shepherd Neame brewery if that is your thing?

I can imagine this square lively and bustling on a Saturday morning with market stalls and coffee culture in full swing.

We were also tired and hungry so I'm sure that had an impact on our visit.

Apparently Sir Bob Geldof lives here! (Not behind this door, he lives in Faversham).

In some ways it reminded me a lot of Royal Tunbridge Wells which is where I grew up. The Pantiles especially, it has the same sort of feel about it.

I am glad we stopped off though. Whenever we go away I like to try and do as much as we can, as we don't often come over to this side of Kent and my wish list of places to visit is very long.

I will have to save Margate for another day!

Does anyone else keep a list of things they want to do? I suppose it's my bucket list but it's not an adrenalin fuelled one, it's more 'visiting gardens'.

We are going to Cornwall next month and Mr Poachie has booked us to do a forward-facing zip wire line. I.AM.BRICKING.IT. I do not care for this type of activities; it makes me so anxious.

So that's it! I hope you all had a lovely weekend.
