Trainspotting

I have this thing with steam trains. The noise, the carriages, seeing them chug through the rolling hills of the English countryside makes me happy.

Before lockdown hit, I had put a note in my diary to do this back in April when the bluebells were out but the trains had to stop running.  The Bluebell Railway reopened last week so off we went for a little trainspotting adventure...

We had no idea about where the best photography spots were and were also unsure as to how close we would be able to get. Mr Poachie downloaded a map/walk but as we were trying to co-coincide with the train times we didn't walk the whole route. Perhaps if we go again we will allocate the whole day and map out the photo hot spots.

Obligatory hat photo.

Once we reached the bridge which had pretty wild flowers on the banks we set up camp nearby and waited to hear the whistle of train to say it was coming!

I have read so many books in lockdown which is great as I usually don't do much reading unless I am abroad. Queenie is very funny.

We found some of nature's snacks.

Once we knew the train was coming there wasn't a lot of time as they come by so fast! I was taking photo's with my iphone and my camera whilst Mr Poachie made some cool videos.

I think I could have taken some better shots but I am happy with these for now.

What a beauty!

It was a fun day, I felt like a kid messing about near the railway, which, Kids you should NEVER do!
