You're never too old for pumpkins and scarecrows

Last Saturday was one of those really grey and miserable days where we had nothing planned so we decided to go to Homesense so I could pick up some bits to make life a bit more cosy. Generally, I really dislike shopping and always do it online as I prefer to try things on at home and not have to deal with queues and people. But when it comes to home furnishings, sometimes it is just easier to go in to the shop so you can squeeze the cushions and sniff the candles.
Plus Homesense doesn't have an online shop!
So off we went, I had a clear objective in my head of things I wanted to purchase; black velvet cushions, candles, bath salts and room diffusers. I have fully embraced Autumn and I wanted to make the house feel cosy and make sure I was stocked up for candle lit baths. Aldi do some really good (and cheap) room diffusers, I think they are better than candles and I only really light candles if we have dinner guests or when I am having a long soak in the tub.
Cash monies spent and now feeling really seasonal we were on our way home when I saw a sign for PYO pumpkins....

I asked Mr Poachie if we could go and he said no as it had been so wet and neither of us were wearing wellies/boots etc but I asked if we could just pop in to have a look... (last year I think we went to 5 or 6 pumpkin farm shops and we spent soooo much money on pumpkins as I had never decorated a house for Halloween so I went alllll out! I had promised Mr Poachie that I wouldn't do that this year).
One wheelbarrow later....

This is Birchden farm PYO located near Groombridge. We should have pre booked tickets but there was no-one there when we parked up so they let us in. It was £5 entry but this was redeemable against the pumpkins you pick so we ended up paying £8 as I bought one large pumpkin, two middle sized ones and a few small ones. I think the small white pumpkins are my favourite.

If I had known we were going to go pumpkin picking I probably would have worn something else but this was a new outfit I had ordered from Zara. You can buy the trousers here and the jacket here
Both are so comfy and I now want to order the whole outfit again in every colour! Mr Poachie doesn't think I need more coats buy I am OBSESSED with coats. I love all the different styles, I just think they complete the outfit but I do have far too many.
After purchasing our new pumpkin babies, I was feeling even more seasonal so instead of heading home we drove down to see the scarecrow trail. They do this at Motts Mill every year and at the end of the drive you end up at a pub which we felt was the perfect way to finish off the afternoon!

The corona lisa was the winning scarecrow of 2020.

I don't know how many scarecrows there are in total but it's more than what I have included here. Some are quite scary! It isn't somewhere I would advise walking as it is a narrow country road and it's tricky to drive as there isn't really enough room for two cars but it is a very long lane so young legs might get tired...

It was a great day. Very Autumnal and now I don't want to leave the house until Spring 2021!
