Pashley Manor Gardens

Me and my new pal Tilly, took ourselves off to Pashley Manor Gardens for a spot of lunch and to explore their fabulous grounds. Pashley Manor is part of the Historic Houses scheme so we didn't have to book tickets but admission usually costs £12.

She introduced me to the Historic Houses membership which is really good value for money, I pay £50 for the year and there are numerous locations near me (and beyond) so I will definitely be making the most of it. This is my second place that I have visited so after a few more trips, I will soon make my money's worth.

Pashley Manor Gardens are located near Ticehurst village and as soon as you enter the grounds, you are transported to a world of calm and beauty. I have only visited a handful of times but I think this might be my most favourite garden; there is a huge variety of flowers, statues, a swimming pool, the lake, numerous pathways taking you off to secret vine covered arches and sculptures.

There is also a Victorian greenhouse, a rose garden, kitchen gardens, a beautiful terrace to stop and eat lunch, fountains, ponds, wisteria and willow trees!

I really love gardens like this where every corner you turn, there is something interesting to see.

It's incredibly romantic and done in such a marvellous way that it doesn't feel too polished. I think you can get married here and whilst that's not something I plan to do, I feel this would very much be where I could see myself choosing as a venue!

The Georgian house is usually covered in a cardigan of glorious wisteria but sadly this year due to the frosts it never bloomed. It is still such a stunning house though, it feels very much like an exclusive country club.

Throughout the year they run various events like 'Kitchen garden week', 'rose week' and a 'tulip festival'. These events are really popular so it is best to book tickets in advance. I think we just missed the rose week event but it didn't matter as the roses are still looking glorious. Despite the heavy rain we have just had!

There are no details regarding the family who live here on the website and you cannot go inside the house, which is a shame as I would LOVE to have a snoop around. If I ever won the lottery and this came up for sale I would 100% buy it. I adore the chimneys and the brickwork, round the front of the house the front door is a large wooden framed entrance with soft pink exterior walls and timber façade.

Down a long sweeping gravel drive dotted with sculptures, it is just perfection.

After a long walk around the gardens, Tilly and I stopped for lunch. This is another reason why I love it here, not only are the grounds impressive but the lunches are so good! Sometimes I feel the National Trust cafes are a bit lacklustre whereas the food here is freshly made on site and they give generous portions.

I opted for the quiche and salad and Tilly had the chicken gratin. Whilst we were eating on the terrace we were befriended by a little robin and Mr and Mrs Mallard, which was so cute. If I hadn't of been driving I could have easily spent the afternoon knocking back rose, we spent a long time chatting and enjoying the views, it was such a lovely day!

It felt like all of the birds here are very tame. There was a black swan which I can't work out wanted to attack me or was just hoping for snacks.

I swear every time I leave here, I feel so rejuvenated afterwards. I don't like spa treatments or massages etc, but that's the kind of feeling I get, like I have just had the most relaxing and lovely time. The last time I visited (which you can read here), I felt the same thing.

Bliss!
