Flower Field of dreams

One of my favourite movie quotes is 'if you build it, he will come' from the Kevin Costner classic's 'Field of Dreams'. This. ladies and gentleman, is where I ended up today, a field of dreams, otherwise known as The real flower confetti company

Now, I have wanted to visit here for around six years but as it is so far from where I live (a good three hours drive) I have never found a reason to go. When I saw on their instagram that they only had a few days left of being open this year I begged Mr Poachie to take me and amazingly, he agreed!

Tickets cost £6.50 each and need to be booked in advance. When we visited it was relatively quiet but I can imagine on a sunny Saturday, the place would be heaving.

As I knew that this wouldn't be somewhere we would visit each year due to the car journey, I must confess I packed three outfits to ensure I got the best out of the photo's.

It might have been a lot of effort, but for me it was totally worth it as I love the images we have come home with, despite risking flashing a boob in the flower field!

I was quite surprised that we were allowed to walk amongst the rows of flowers as I know that they are sold for wedding confetti, but we tried to be very respectful of the flowers and not trample on any.

Back in the day, it was rice grain that used to be thrown for the happy couple. I'm not sure when the tradition changed but I think it must be nicer to be covered in confetti and not rice, rice gets in all the wrong places!

We spent just over two hours here, they have fields of white, pink, purple, poppies and a few more so we tried to capture it all. The website advises you to try and keep your visit to a maximum of two hours to ensure a decent visit for the next round of visitors and I think we managed to do just that.

They sell big bunches of flowers for £10 which we took home, some people were using them as props to take photo's with. We also spotted the official photographer of the flower field who was taking couples photos which I guess could be used for engagement or baby photos.

For me, photo wise the weather was great, nice and warm, sunny spells but mostly cloudy which is my preferred shooting setting! I had a wonderful few hours and am so happy with the images we got.
Big kudos to Mr Poachie for doing the driving and being the photographer for 90% of the day!
