Birthday Trip to the Cotswolds: Part Deux

After checking out of The Artist Residence, we headed off towards Broadway. I had never been before and some people had recommended it as a nice place to visit. For me, it was nothing special and after buying some sun cream we headed back to the car and went to see The Broadway Tower.

I wasn't feeling very well at this point (not sure if it was the heat, the diet or the lack of sleep) but we decided against going up to the top and left! You can walk around the estate but it was really windy and I was scared I was going to lose my new hat so we tried to get some good shots of the tower but it was surrounded by people.

We gave up and drove to The Fish Hotel where we had booked a table for lunch. It was only a short drive away but the drive to get into the estate was about five minutes alone! Located on the Farncombe estate, it was enormous. We parked in three different car parks before locating where we were meant to be.

We sat outside on the terrace and ordered drinks. It was a very cool place and originally I had booked us a room to stay here as a surprise for Mr Poachie's 50th birthday but I have since cancelled as really, I think that was more what I wanted to do rather than what he wanted!

They have Shepherd's huts with rolltop baths and outdoor wooden bathtubs, one also has its own lake and row boat so you can sail to your own island to watch a film under the night sky! But it is pricey and he has this thing against shepherds huts, is his mind you are sleeping in a very expensive shed!

They also have these treehouses which look like an epic stay.

Anyway, our drinks were delicious, the atmosphere was calm and we were surrounded by nature. The hotel itself is enormous and very modern on the inside.

Because of my silly diet I didn't eat the buns but these sliders were great, I had the crab fritter and guac and then a surf and turf. Yum.

After toasting to my birthday, we finished up and hit the road back home. We are still in the process of unpacking boxes and ordering furniture so it's a bit chaotic but we are both really happy to be here.

I have been very spoilt for my birthday and just love Mr Poachie so much for being so kind and wonderful.
