Ightham Mote

I feel visiting Ightham Mote is becoming an Autumn tradition for me. I'm sure it's gorgeous all year round, I just seem to only visit at this time of year!

I think the colours of the building just photograph so well at this time of year. Autumn is a little delayed this year, it's been so mild the leaves haven't started to change colour yet but Mr Poachie and I decided to visit and do the estate walk.

I think Ightham Mote is such a stunning place to visit, it has the moated house, apple orchards, cutting garden, estate walks with amazing views of the surrounding countryside, sprawling lawns and more! It's very romantic,

Whenever we are visiting somewhere now, I keep thinking about where is dog friendly as we are currently looking for a puppy to call our own. Ightham Mote doesn't allow dogs within the gardens but you can do the estate walk with pups.

Searching for a puppy is quite a difficult process, there is so much to think about and its scary not knowing if the person you have found is a reputable breeder.

I am looking for an apricot cockapoo and they don't come cheap! So if you know of anyone with a litter of puppies please let me know.

So many of our holidays have been cancelled due to covid still so I am not going to book in any more which means we know we will be home for enough time to train the puppy. It seems like it is going to be a full time job but I have wanted a dog for so long now I am ready to be a pup mum.

Anyway, back to our visit. we spent an hour mooching around the house and gardens and then decided to do the hour long estate walk which is a little steep but very rewarding with the views.

After clocking up quite a few steps, we headed to the Chaser Inn pub in Shipbourne and had an early sups and a cheeky vino, we felt it was well deserved.

I love Saturdays like this, long countryside walks and drinks in the pub.

Good old England.

I hope you have all had a nice day!
