A day of daffodils

Just so we are clear, I am aware of the state of my roots, my hair appointment has been booked for April 12th! I decided against another round of home bleaching, I have done it twice in lockdown and whilst I love the light. block colour, I'm not keen on the brassy tones and the awful roots when they come in. Plus it is super damaging and I have just spent a small fortune on Olaplex products which social media assures me will help.

Anyway, I haven't come on here to tell you about my hair issues.
Today I woke up to a wonderful image on my morning insta scroll of Groombridge place swathed in daffodils and I told Mr Poachie that we simply must go.

We already had tickets to visit Sheffield Park garden in the afternoon so this was a last minute plan for the morning. Groombridge is only ten mins down the road for us so it could easily fit into our plans.

Groombridge Place is currently closed to visitors but you can walk around the estate on the footpaths. The village of Groombridge is worth a visit too as it is full of charm and cute cottages you can read about it in another blog post here.

I have been trying to vary my use of presets and lightroom editing and I can't ever seem to settle on a particular one and all I end up with is 100 more images than I did to start with! I have started uploading my photo's to Getty contributor in the hope of one day selling my photo's but the process is long.

I think we might have visited a week too early, whilst the daff's were out they hadn't all fully 'popped' but I think I came home with a few decent pics...

This was a cute cottage that we passed on the way, it was a 'stop the car' moment!

Afterwards we headed to Sheffield Park Gardens which I have never been to in the spring time. Again it is local to us so we thought it would be nice to have a change of scenery and get some fresh air.

The ducks are really tame here and I got this snap of this handsome fella...

I'm not 100% sure but I think people live here, it's an enormous property that looks like it could be for weddings but I think it is a private estate!

After taking numerous snaps we took a stroll around the lakes which made me slightly seasonally confused as we usually visit here in the Autumn (which you can read more about here and here).

Once we got home we tucked into a naughty chocolate hot cross bun. I don't usually like hot cross buns as I loathe raisins but these didn't have raisins in and were rather splendid with a hot cup of tea!

How was your Saturday? Have you visited the daffodils near to where you live?
