A wander round Ightham village

Ightham is a village in Kent, which is most famous for Ightham Mote, a medieval moated manor house owned by the National Trust. And whilst I have visited there numerous times over the years, I have never thought to stop and explore the village itself.

On a rare sunny Saturday, with nothing to do, Mr Poachie and I hopped in the car and headed over. Its a very pretty part of Kent, filled with history and gorgeous countryside.

As soon as we parked up and I start snapping away, Mr Poachie got chatting to one of the residents who lived in this house above, how incredibly lucky is here! He has lived there for 30 years and he had a collection of photo's of Ightham that he has sourced from various places over the years. He showed us the collection of images and the village hasn't really changed one bit.

Part of the house had previously been a pub, twice but now remains as a private residence.

The average price for a house here would cost you around £719,750 but with its stunning views, local countryside walks, village pub, parish church and two National Trust properties nearby (Old Soar Manor is part of the circular walk from Ightham) it is not hard to understand its popularity.

After we were done chatting to the local resident we headed back home via Groombridge for a bite to eat in the Crown pub.

Rose + sunshine + camera roll filled with fresh photo's = perfect Saturday.

I hope you all had a good day!
