Durdle Door

Durdle Door is somewhere I have wanted to visit for a while, I love a dramatic coastline and this didn't disappoint.

We were on our way down to the Pig on the beach and saw that this was only 30 minutes from the hotel so we packed up some sandwiches and made our journey there.

Obviously I was wearing a Hill & Ellis bag, this is the navy canvas bag which is so useful for my camera accessories and as its 100% water resistant I know my equipment will be safe and dry.

If you would like to order anything from the Hill & Ellis website, you can get 10% off your order using the code LILLY10 at checkout.

I had been anticipating a cold blustery day but it was so gorgeously warm so we sat and ate our sandwiches in the sunshine whilst appreciating the view.

I'm pretty sure this has been featured in a few films, it looks like somewhere from the Hobbit or Lord of the Rings.

We watched the ships sailed by, it was the perfect day to be by the water.

We also saw people swimming in the sea which made me very jealous. If we had planned better I think we should have brought our swimmers with us and spent the afternoon here.

In case you haven't visited before and don't know what to expect, there is a big car park which you have to buy a ticket and there are toilets here too. The walk down takes about 15-20 minutes and the beach is shingle. There are numerous walks you could do, sadly we didn't have time.

The walk back up the car park is long and steep, we were really hot and out of breath by the time we got there! So wear sensible shoes, some of the path is loose/rocky so it was easy to lose your footing.

But as you can see, it's totally stunning and well worth the walk. It's something else to tick off my 'live the life you love' list!
