Picnics with the British Blanket Company

So, if you have been reading/following me for a while, you should know how much I ADORE picnics.

My birthday is in a few weeks and I have asked Mr Poachie to spend the day going on a morning cycle and then a picnic lunch with some of our favourite foods and wine.

It was with some birthday money, that I received last year, that I bought myself a pink waterproof blanket from the British Blanket company , so that I could embark on more picnics!

They have kindly gifted me one of their new, sea green, diamond throw blankets so that I could enjoy it even more this year.

As you may be aware, the Spring has been teasing us this year and not quite been warm enough to sit out and enjoy the sunshine. At last we've finally had a day warm enough for me to think that I needed to set up the ultimate picnic scene.

I am very much a 'live for the moment' person; I drank a lot of rosé
in the sunshine last year, probably too much, but I do not regret one drop, as I believe that I made the most of the good weather. You have to take these opportunities whilst you can.

I am due to have my first Covid vaccine this week and whilst I am happy that the world is going to be getting back to normal, I will also be very sad to see things change. I have loved being at home and I'm trying to appreciate every opportunity to be outside in this gorgeous setting, that I have been so fortunate to call home for the last two years.

Don't get me wrong; I am super excited to be moving, and to a village that I have always dreamt about living in, but this little corner of Sussex where I have recently been living, has been my port in a storm, a sanctuary and a place that I never thought that I would have the opportunity to live in. Anyway, I might write more about that in a separate post.

Back to my picnic! I am so grateful that I received this gorgeous blanket. Green is my favourite colour and these blankets are so beautiful. This throw is made from 100% wool and will be useful in the winter for snuggling on the sofa when watching films.
It might also double up as a throw for the bed to keep us warm at night. But for the next few months I'm sure it will be accompanying me for any outdoor theatre events and picnics that I book us into!

This was a gifted product but it is something that I would have purchased (as you can see from my pink picnic rug!) and all opinions are my own.
