A Saturday cycle & a little update

On Saturday it was the first really nice day that we had had in what feels like forever so we decided to take our bikes out for a ride as opposed to yet another walk.

We are so lucky to be living in the Ashdown forest where there are plenty of scenic walks but it is refreshing to have a change of scenery.

Near to where we live is a really great cycle route which is flat as it is an old disused railway with glorious fields either sides.

Patsys (my bike) tyres were freshly pumped and ready to go. Last time I rode her she got a flat tire and made such a racket cycling along. Yes, yes Pashley’s aren’t the most practical bikes but I love her and just because something is hard work doesn’t mean you should give up.
This is the same advice I give to Mr Poachie when I’m being annoying.

The cycle route can either start in Groombridge or Forest row and takes about 2 hours to complete. We parked at Hartfield which is halfway between the two points as we wanted to pop to Nick the butchers and buy something yummy for our roast on Sunday.

It’s a really popular route for families, cyclists and runners I guess we all go for the same reason. It’s flat, long and scenic! They also have a lot of benches and picnic tables in case you want to stop along the way.

We saw the most adorable cockapoo puppy on our ride I had to stop cycling for a moment to say hello to the little pup pup she was tiny and caramel coloured! I cannot wait to get a dog but it’s difficult right now as we are renting and I want to keep travelling as much as I can (when we can) so it doesn’t make sense to get one right now. Also, with the puppy boom in lockdown I don’t want to spend £3k on a dog?!

My bottom is still sore from sitting on the saddle but I really love being out on my bike. It makes me feel young and free.

Speaking of bikes, I was approached recently by a lovely lady on insta who was querying whether I would help her out with her social media. She has a company selling the most gorgeous bike satchels/bags and for each bag sold a tree is planted. We had a long chat on the phone and I pinged her through some ideas that I had for content and photo shoot locations to which she was on board with so now I am managing two social media accounts!

I can’t believe how well things have fallen into place, it is giving me such good experience and it doesn’t feel like work because I have such a genuine interest in this so why would I not want to be thinking of ideas for photos, looking at photos and taking photos!

So I feel like I am in a good space right now. I am getting more confident in what I can offer and deliver and from working with these incredible people I can learn so much!

The account I have just taken on is called ‘Hill and Ellis’ her bags are gorgeous so go check them out!
