Halloween baking

Any excuse to make some sort of tradition and I am there! Not that we really celebrate Halloween in England like our friends across the pond but that hasn't stopped me from doing some baking, I mean what else is there to do with the long dark nights?!

Last Halloween, I went alllll out and bought so many pumpkins and even though we have no trick or treaters coming for candy (we live out in the sticks) I thought it was fun to decorate and make some biscuits for my team at work. Despite being in lockdown this year and not seeing many people I felt it was a nice thing to do and a fun way to spend an afternoon baking these biscuits!

I used a very basic biscuit recipe you can find here that was super easy to follow as it is probably designed for mums who want to get their kids involved in a fun activity!

I have a large collection of cookie cutters from over the years, I think I bought a big bag from Amazon on the cheap but they do the job. I settled on ghosts and bats.

I also bought ready rolled coloured icing so it really couldn't have been simpler!

The recipe made around 20 biscuits which was perfect, I paired up a ghost and a bat and wrapped them in celophane and gifted them to anyone who I saw in October! I don't actually like biscuits like this so I got all the joy from making them but didnt need to worry about the sugar content (warning: its quite a bit).

Aren't they cute? I know they aren't perfect but biscuits make me happy.

Did you all have a fun Halloween? What traditions/celebrations do you do?
