New Romney

Every August I start to crave coastal living. I want to spend days at the beach, watch the sunset, feel that sea breeze on my face and let Rosie have a change of scenery. So last year, I was scrolling through one of my favourite holiday letting websites Unique Homestays and found this dreamy cabin 'Romany'.

Tucked down a narrow country lane, lined with blackberry bushes is this whitewashed cabin with a white picket fence, I felt like we had arrived in New England which is exactly the vibe I wanted. I recently watched 'The Summer I turned pretty' and I wanted to pretend I was a Nantucket Nancy for the week.

The owners of this cabin have other properties in the area and are all equally beautiful. It was well equipped with everything we would to make it our home for the week and they left us a welcome hamper of prosecco, chutney, crisps, coffee, chocolate and eggs.

Located in Romney Marsh, its a very pretty part of England. It's very flat so excellent for walks and cycling. I did want to take my bike but we didn't have room for it. I think that would be my only suggestion for this rental, if they had provided two bicycles for guests to use during their stay.

We arrived on Bank holiday Monday and had spent the day in nearby Appledore ( I will write a separate post about that) but for the remaining week both Mr Poachie and I were working so the main reason for the trip was a change of scenery and then to make the most of the evenings to take Rosie for long walks.

I had looked up local trails on my AllTrails app so we planned which route we were going to walk each evening. But you can head out straight from the cabin and find more local routes.

There are some great pubs nearby, we went to the Ferry Inn which is within walking distance and we also had supper at The Woolpack inn in Warehorne.

There is also the option of driving into Rye which has lots of options for great places to eat and drink.

Back to the cabin, inside it is light and airy. I loved the design and the details of it.

There is a log burner, roll top bath, a separate shower room, hot tub, disco balls in the trees, a cutting garden filled with roses and dahlias.

The garden room was where we worked from each day and Rosie snoozed on the daybed.

Each morning I did my workout on the deck outside and it was SO nice to be outdoors surrounded by nature whilst getting a sweat on!

The property is next door to the owners main house but you are not overlooked so you have complete privacy and the garden is 100% secure which is great for escape artists like Rosie.

The week went by so fast, I thought we would spend more time at one of the nearby beaches but we only went once to Camber Sands. Rosie loves the beach it gives her the zoomies.

I think if I book a trip for next Summer, I am going to find somewhere nearer the sea and book it for 7 days, I was very sad to leave this delightful cabin!
