Christmas is here! A visit to Standen House

I have rules about celebrating Christmas. I will only start to acknowledge it after fireworks night and my decorations wont go up until the 1st of the month.

This year, I needed to shoot some festive content for Hill & Ellis so Mr Poachie and I went to visit Standen House which is local to us and I knew that they had put a Christmas tree up.

It was a really chilly day, it feels so much colder this year! So we bought a hot chocolate and got to work. I won't include all of the bag images that we took but there is one below that might feature on their social media pages soon!

The tree is really beautiful, Standen have Christmas carols in their courtyard which would be so lovely to attend. We were hoping to also go inside the house as it has been decorated for Christmas but it was closed. I have visited the house at Christmas time before but I haven't done a blog post on it. Maybe I will do that soon as we are now in the festive season.

I so love a real Christmas tree, I think you can't beat the smell of them. And personally I think it is fun to hoover up all the pine needles! I'm hoping Rosie doesn't try to eat the tree. We are going to have two trees this year, one in our living room in the bay window with just lights on and then a smaller tree in the dinning room. I am going to put it on a toboggan so it is high off the ground so she can't reach it!

What do you have at home? I did see some lovely faux trees from The White Company and for the price, they do make sense to purchase as you will get the longevity of it and the quality of them look so realistic, plus some come with lights already on them so its so easy to assemble!

I think Mr Poachie would prefer it if we had a fake tree, but I'm not on board with it, it's real all the way.
